AVON – How To Find Customers

Recently, I asked the members of my Avon team (ranging from brand new to experienced super-sellers) to share their favorite strategies for finding new customers! The responses were incredible!

Check out all of the many ways that Avon reps connect with new customers, then keep reading for a few tips on resources you can use to put these great ideas into action!!

HOW TO FIND AVON CUSTOMERS – IDEAS THAT REALLY WORK!!

I share on social media and like doing vendor shows. I reach a lot of people this way that I otherwise wouldn’t connect with. ~Lisa D.

I made up a basket of books, free samples and a perfume tester and put it in the breakroom where I work. ~Julie C.

I enjoy putting up posts on my Facebook page and group. I do product photos and info from Avon Social, but also do my own testimonials on the products. I find that putting up “selfies” of myself using the products get the most interaction and interest. ~Danielle L.

I’ve connected with a couple people by offering a free gift for sharing my business page or post on their FB timeline. I also love utilizing Avon Social for my biz page! It’s an incredible tool!!! And… I’ve sent personal messages out to tons of people just letting them know I’m selling Avon so if they or anyone they know needs an Avon Lady I’m their girl. I don’t have cards yet, but I take a bag with candy, a sample, and a brochure or pamphlet with my information on it (including my Facebook page), as I run thru a drive thru or restaurant. I haven’t purchased brochures in a while but I take the mini brochures (sale flyers) that I get with my campaign orders and I keep those on hand with my info on them and a recruiting flyer that I made. I have a Beauty Boss button that I got a while back, that I wear and I make sure I have my Avon jewelry and makeup on. I have been getting a lot of comments on my jewelry a lot lately. At my full-time job, I am not allowed to really promote my business BUT… I have purchased bottles of the Skin So Soft lotions and have put one in ALL of the ladies bathrooms with a label on them that has my info. I have some mini brochures in my desk drawer to give to people when they approach me about the lotions. Now that there is hand soap, I want to order some for the bathrooms AND the sinks in the breakrooms (there are 4 buildings for the company I work for). I also promote through Facebook, Instagram and Next Door. ~Shelly K.

TIPS AND RESOURCES

Did you notice a lot of common themes in the responses?? Brochures, samples, Facebook, Avon Social, Wearing and Sharing…

Let’s chat a bit about how you can use those tools too!

1) BROCHURES – You can order printed Avon brochures at any time. Go to avonnow.com, click “Order Products”, then select “Brochures & Flyers” to choose the brochures you’d like to order. It’s a good idea to get in a routine of ordering brochures two campaigns ahead of time, so you always have the supplies you need to promote your business. Brochures come in packs of 10, and get less expensive the more packs you order.

**All reps also have a FREE digital version of the brochure, which you can share on Facebook, through email, in text/messages, etc. To get your digital brochure link, go to your online store, click BROCHURE (from the main menu), then copy that link! Customers can flip page-by-page through the digital brochure to select their items. They can then either give their order to you (for you to submit) or place their order online (to be delivered directly to them).

2) SAMPLES – Samples can also be ordered at any time from avonnow.com. Click “Order Products”, then select “Samples” to view the currently available samples. Not seeing the product you’d like to offer samples of? Many reps like to make their own samples by ordering a full-sized product, then using small sample containers (which can be ordered from places like Amazon).

3) FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM – Social media can be a very powerful advertising tool. The trick to utilizing social media to successfully promote your business is to post regularly and make your posts as personal as possible. (Simply posting the link to your online store and waiting for orders is unlikely to produce the results you’re looking for.) Post pictures of products to offer a taste of what customers will find on your online store, share personal before/after pictures, talk about the products you are currently using and love! Share what you truly love (and share it often) and you’ll generate interest! Keep sharing, even if you don’t see instant results – it takes most customers multiple exposures to build enough interest to take action!

Click on “Units” from the main menu of that page to access a list of short, helpful tutorial videos.

4) AVON SOCIAL – Avon Social is an incredible, totally FREE tool you can use to promote your business. You’ll find the link to Avon Social in the top left corner of avonnow.com. Avon Social is filled with thousands of images and videos, which you can either download (to post wherever you’d like) or post directly to a Facebook business page or group. The Social Selling by Avon Social Facebook page is a great source of tips for using Avon Social.

5) WEAR & SHARE – Make yourself a walking billboard for your Avon business by wearing and sharing the products. Get to know the products you are selling by using them personally, so you can offer your authentic testimonial and answer customer questions based on your firsthand experience. Products like our beautiful jewelry are “compliment catchers” which open the door to conversations about your Avon business.

As a representative, you can order new products, two campaigns ahead of their official debut, from the What’s New catalogs. You’ll get a discount on your personal purchases, based on your normal earnings level.

6) GOOGLE BUSINESS – Set yourself up a FREE Google Business profile, so local customers can find you when they search for Avon!

NEW AVON REPS – How to Earn a Cruise Vacation + Nearly $5000 by August!!

Greetings, Beauty Boss!!

If you’ve just recently started your Avon business, this post is for YOU!

One of the many wonderful things about Avon is the flexibility. As an Avon representative, YOU get to choose how Avon fits into your life.

For some reps, it’s as simple as saving on their own beauty products. Other reps come to Avon to make a little extra pocket money, while still others come to Avon to replace a part-time (or even full-time) job!

Ultimately, the rewards you reap from your Avon business will vary depending on YOU, your personal goals, and what you’re willing to do to achieve those goals.

If you are a new Avon rep who is determined to make the most of your new business and take advantage of every available incentive to earn the most money and even an all-inclusive cruise vacation, then this post is for YOU!

I’m going to outline how new Avon reps (anyone who placed a 1st order in C24 ’19 or later) can earn nearly $5000 AND an all-inclusive 5-night/6-day cruise, on board Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas between NOW (Campaign 5 ’20) and the end of Campaign 17 ’20 (8/4/20).

Are you ready??

First, there are two current Avon incentives you should know about:

  1. Pathway to Premier
  2. Destination Avon – Caribbean Odyssey

I’m going to briefly explain both incentives below, and then we’ll dive into a plan which would help you to achieve the maximum bonuses from Pathway to Premier AND the cruise vacation!!

PATHWAY TO PREMIER

This is Avon’s new program for new representatives, which began in Campaign 5 ’20. Through Pathway to Premier, new representatives can earn two types of bonuses (on top of their regular 25% commission on beauty, jewelry, and wellness sales; 20% on fashion/home) during their first EIGHT campaigns with Avon (or until they reach $5000 in total sales – whichever happens first).

For representatives starting in C5 ’20 or later, your first “Pathway to Premier” campaign begins whenever you place an order through the representative site (avonnow.com) or a customer places an order through your online store (www.youravon.com/______)

For representatives who already placed a 1st order between C24 ’19 – C4 ’20, your eight “Pathway to Premier” campaigns begin in C5 ’20.

Here is the Pathway to Premier flyer, which outlines the bonuses which can be earned during your eight “Pathway to Premier” campaigns.

At the program’s max, you could be looking at $3250 in earnings and bonuses. That’s what we’re going to aim for in the plan I’ll outline below!

DESTINATION AVON – CARIBBEAN ODYSSEY

This incentive, which runs from C1 ’20 – C17 ’20 is open for ALL Avon representatives to earn, by achieving a sales goal determined by sales achievement level and length of time as an Avon representative.

Reach your sales goal to earn an all-inclusive 5-night/6-day cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas (November 9-14).

For NEW REPS (in this case, anyone who started in C1 ’19 or later), the sales goal to earn the TRIP FOR ONE is $10,000 between C1 ’20 – C17 ’20. The sales goal for the TRIP FOR TWO is $15,000.

So, now that you know about these two exciting opportunities, let’s break down what it would take for you to earn it ALL! After I break down the plan, I’ll outline a few tips for success!

If you’re starting right now, in Campaign 5 2020, you’ve got a total of 13 campaigns to reach the $10,000 in sales necessary to earn the cruise. That means that you need about $770 in sales each campaign between C5 – C17. For simplicity, let’s round up to $800 in sales each campaign (because what’s another $30 in sales, right??).

If you sell $800 each campaign, between C5 – C17, watch how the Pathway to Premier bonuses stack up, as you land yourself on the cruise vacation!

Keep the following in mind:

  1. You’ll earn 25% commission on all beauty, jewelry, and wellness sales (as long as your total sales for the campaign is $40, which won’t be an issue in this plan); 20% on fashion/home. (For the sake of this plan, let’s assume that all of your sales of beauty, jewelry, and wellness items, which make up the vast majority of our product collection.)
  2. Once you reach $5000 in sales, you become a PREMIER achiever, and your earnings on beauty, jewelry, and wellness increase to 30%! BOOM, you’ve given yourself a raise!
  3. Once you reach $10,000 in sales, you become a PRESIDENT’S CLUB achiever, and your earnings on beauty, jewelry, and wellness increase to 40%! BOOM, you’ve given yourself another raise!
  4. Through Pathway to Premier, you’ll earn a $20 “Stepping Stone” bonus for every $200 increment of sales within a campaign (up to $500 total in Stepping Stone bonuses).
  5. Through Pathway to Premier, you’ll also earn a 10% “Milestone” bonus for every $1000 in cumulative sales within your first eight campaigns, maxing out at a bonus of $500 when you reach $5000 in cumulative sales within your 1st eight campaigns.

There you have it!! Earning nearly $5000 between now and August 4, along with an all-inclusive trip for one on Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas, is as simple as selling $800 each campaign between C5 ’20 – C17 ’20.

Notice that I said SIMPLE, not EASY.

It will likely not be EASY to sell $800 each campaign, but it IS achievable with a solid plan, efficient use of available resources, a hefty dose of determination, unwavering perseverance, and an unstoppable “can-do” attitude!

Check out these TIPS for making it happen:

Jump in with both feet right NOW. Don’t delay in getting started. The fewer campaigns you give yourself, the more you’ll need to sell each campaign to hit $10,000 by C17.

Know where you are and where you’re going. Be sure to check out your personal incentive tracker under the “Get Details” link for the “Destination Avon” incentive. Track your progress regularly and adjust your plan as needed.

Believe in your ability to earn this trip (because you CAN). Don’t let self-doubt hold you back from giving it everything you’ve got! Jump in and go for it!! Everything you do as you work towards this trip will help you to build a stronger, more profitable business in the process.

Be willing to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things. Reaching sales of $800 each campaign will take a bit of effort, creativity, and ingenuity! Be brave! You’ll be thankful you were when you’re relaxing with your feet up, tropical cocktail in hand, on that cruise ship!

Evaluate your progress every campaign and adjust your plan as necessary. If you’re not progressing as quickly as you need to, rework your plan to stay on track. Use the personal incentive tracker, which I mentioned previously, to track your progress and adjust your plan.

Utilize every available resource at your disposal. You’re going to need it all to hit that sales goal! Use your online store, digital brochure, printed brochures, samples, social media, Facebook posts, emails, texting, vendor events, online parties, fundraisers, friend referrals, specials offers, etc. Use it all to hit that goal!!

Take advantage of all training opportunities! Avon offers us a tremendous amount of training and support. Participate in as many opportunities as you can. The more familiar you are with the products, resources, and sales strategies, the more successful you will be at selling! Be determined and don’t let anything stop you!! Start off slower or later than you’d hoped? That’s ok! Keep pushing forward! Look for ways to accelerate your progress! This is worth it and YOU ARE CAPABLE of achieving it!

 

 

What I DIDN’T Know About Becoming an Avon Rep

In May of 2013, I was taking a walk around my neighborhood with my three little boys. My youngest (2-years-old at the time) was in a stroller and my older two sons (4 and 6-years-old) walked beside me.

As we enjoyed the lovely spring afternoon, a memory popped into my head; one of the very few memories I have of my mother before she passed away from breast cancer when I was four years old.

In the memory, my mother holds me in her arms as my younger sister rests beside us in a pretty yellow baby buggy. Across from us sit two older couples at a picnic table. We’re in their backyard. My mother’s arm is extended towards the table, offering one of the women her Avon order.

It was in that moment, as I reflected on the happy memory of my mother delivering an Avon order with her young children in tow, that I decided to become an Avon representative.

I was an Avon rep by the time my husband got home from work that day.

WHAT I KNEW ABOUT AVON WHEN I SIGNED UP…

  • I knew Avon had been around for a very long time (133 years to date).
  • I knew Avon offered a wide selection of great products.
  • I knew that it was very inexpensive to sign up – $10 at the time (It’ll be FREE for a limited time, beginning 2/5/20).
  • I knew it was flexible, that there were no order quotas, and that I didn’t have to keep an inventory.
  • I knew that I didn’t need to host parties (which relieved me as a busy mom of young children).
  • I knew that there would be samples and brochures to pass out to customers.
  • I knew that I could likely make a little extra money and at the very least get a discount on my own purchases.

The things I knew gave me the comfort I needed to take a $10 risk on signing up. What I realize now, about 6.5 years later, is that there were so many things I didn’t know about becoming an Avon representative.

WHAT I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT BECOMING AN AVON REP…

I didn’t know that Avon would lead me to some of the dearest and most special friendships I have ever experienced.

I didn’t know that my Avon business would provide me with the sense of personal accomplishment, pride, and recognition that I was missing as a stay-at-home mom.

I didn’t know that in addition to the printed brochures, I’d have my own online store and a wide variety of digital tools, which would allow me to easily sell from home, whenever it fit into my busy days with the kids.

I didn’t know that Avon could become my full-time job, with an income to match. At best, I’d expected a little extra spending money. I never imagined that it could make a substantial contribution to my family’s income, while still allowing me to stay home with our kids.

I didn’t know that I could earn all-inclusive vacations, just by doing the things I was already doing to build a stronger business. To date, I’ve enjoyed vacations to Playa del Carmen and Los Cabos, Mexico , Bahamas (Atlantis), Maui, Disney World, and a cruise to Bermuda. Jamaica is up next! I’ve been able to share many of these incredible experiences with my husband, sister, and sons.

I didn’t know that I’d also get to visit other fun cites for Avon’s annual conventions and leadership conferences, including Orlando, Nashville, San Antonio, Chicago, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Columbus, and Scottsdale.

I didn’t know that I’d earn other fun rewards, like an HDTV, Apple TV, family games, a KitchenAid mixer, beautiful jewelry, cash bonuses, a diamond necklace, and more!

First Steps for New Reps!

Welcome to AVON!

The moment you signed up, you were given INSTANT ACCESS to everything you need to start selling right away!

I’m going to walk you through a few of those things right NOW!

1. Register on the Representative Web Site– The first thing you should do after signing up is go to www.avonnow.com (the representative web site, where you will monitor and manage your business) and register with:

  • Your Account Number
  • Your District Number
  • Last four digits of your SS#

*If you chose not to enter a SS# when you signed up, enter 0000 in that box.

2. Record Your Log-in Info – Once you register on the representative site, you will set up a password for future log-ins. Be sure to record your password somewhere safe.

3. Activate Your Online Store – The next step will be to activate your personal online Avon store. Don’t worry! It’s super easy! Avon has everything all set up for you. All you’ll need to do is to confirm the online store address that Avon has made for you or customize your own! As soon as you do that, your web site will be ready for you or your customers to shop from!

4. Start Exploring and Learning – There is a ton of useful information on the representative web site. Start exploring to learn your way around. Be sure to visit the AVON U TRAINING link in the top left corner of the page. You will be able to complete self-paced online courses there, to help you with your business! I highly recommend that you complete the “Shortcuts to Success” and “Building an Online Business” courses. Take as much training as you’d like! Learn about products, selling online, fundraising, and more! It’s all FREE!

5. Start Selling and Earning – Once your online store is activated, you’re ready to start selling! Share your online store link with with everyone you know! Let them know that they can shop your online store 24/7 and have their orders delivered directly to their homes. There’s FREE SHIPPING on online orders of $60+ and you can share the coupon code WELCOME10 for 10% off their 1st online order!

Go ahead and visit your own online store to explore! Place an order if you’d like! (Your earnings on your order will be credited back to your Avon account within two days of your order shipping.) WHAT resources do Avon representatives have to sell online?

Avon has provided us with all of the resources we need to build successful online business!

FREE Online Store Link – Start by getting to know your online store. You’ll find the link to your online store in the top righthand corner of youravon.com. Share that link with everyone you know. Put it on all brochures that you pass out. Include it when you promote your Avon business on Facebook and other social media.

TIP: If you’ve never shopped your own online store before, give it a try so that you can experience exactly what your customers will experience! You will then be better prepared to walk your customers through the easy process!

Avon Social – Avon has also provided us with AVON SOCIAL, an amazing (and FREE) tool which is filled with literally thousands and thousands of images and videos, which you can use to promote your Avon business online through Facebook and other social media. Training is available within Avon Social and on the Social Selling by Avon Social Facebook page to support representatives in using this great tool!

Within just TWO DAYS after the online order has shipped to your customer, your earnings will be deposited into your bank account!

Note: Online earnings will first apply to any balance owed from your previous order(s) through the representative site. To ensure that your online earnings go straight into your bank account, be sure to fully pay for each order you place through the representative site.

Digital Brochure Link – Every Avon representative also has a totally FREE digital brochure link, which you can share with everyone you know! Customers can flip page by page through the digital brochure to browse all of our great products! Your digital brochure link is also connected to your online store, so that customers can either contact you with their orders or place their orders through your online store.

HELP! I’m Having Trouble Getting Started!

So, you passed out some brochures, posted a few times on Facebook, and maybe even gave out some samples, but no one has placed an order yet.

You might be starting to think that nobody wants what you’re selling or that you’re just not good at selling it.

Hang in there, because neither of those things is true!

Remember, you’re building a business here, the key word being building. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither shall your Avon business be.

If you’re not having the success you’d hoped for, step back for a second, think like the BEAUTY BOSS you are, and ask yourself, “What else can I try?

If you stick with your business, and commit to trying new strategies, you can be successful! YOU are the boss of your Avon business! YOU are in control of your own success! Don’t let any obstacle come between you and that success!

If you’re having trouble finding your first customers, here are TEN ideas to try:

ONE: First things first… Have you ordered and passed out any brochures? Have you shared your digital brochure link on Facebook, by email, messenger, or text? Have you used our Avon Social tool to post pics of the incredible products customers can order from you//

If not, then people don’t know what you are selling! You have to show them!

**Brochures can be ordered at any time from avonnow.com! You can also share your digital brochure link from avonnow.com.

TWO: The fortune is in the follow-up. After you passed out some brochures, did you follow-up with the people you gave brochures to? Following up with your customers is a way that you can offer great customer service. A few days after you’ve given someone a brochure, reach out to them to see if they have any questions about any of the items. Ask if there’s anything they’d like to try a sample of. (If you don’t have that sample on hand, you can order it when you place your first order.) Point out a great deal, an item you think they’d love, or an item you can’t wait to try. Be conversational and enthusiastic about the products, then ask if there’s anything they’d like to order this campaign. Collect their order.

THREE: Let’s say you make that follow-up call, and they are still not interested in ordering this campaign… #1 Give them another brochure next campaign anyway. Maybe they weren’t interested this campaign. That doesn’t mean they’ll never be interested. #2 Ask them if they would be willing to pass that brochure onto someone they know who might be interested. Offer them a thank you gift or discount on a future order, if the person they pass the brochure onto places an order.

FOUR: Have you faced customers who tell you they’re not interested because they don’t wear make-up or they use a different brand of skin care? Hand them the brochure anyway. Tell them to take a look. They will be surprised how many other things Avon offers, besides cosmetics and skin care. There are items for the home, clothing, beautiful jewelry, and more!

FIVE: Perhaps you’ve encountered someone who is worried how the skin care items will work for them or how the clothing will fit or whether the shade of lipstick is the right shade for them? Tell them about Avon’s product guarantee. They can return or exchange any product for any reason at all within 90 days of purchase. It’s risk-free for them to give it a try.

SIX: Have you promoted your Avon business on Facebook? If not, give it a try! Our Avon Social tool (located in the top left corner of avonnow.com) can be a good place to start. If you have posted a few times, and you’re not getting a response, try something new! Make your posts more personal. Let your friends and family members know why YOU love Avon! Let them know why you started your Avon business and ask them if they would support you by checking out your web store. Post about products you can’t wait to try. Go LIVE on Facebook to show everyone the products which came in your starter kit. Tell them what you love about the products as you give them a try.

SEVEN: Incentivize your potential customers to become one of your first customers. Offer a free gift with first order or a little discount on their first order. Everybody loves free gifts and discounts. Call it a Grand Opening special!!

EIGHT: Businesses often have Grand Opening events! Your business should have one too! Your event can be whatever you want it to be. Hold a little girls night at your home and invite friends over to sample the products and shop the brochures. You might also choose to hold an online party to introduce everyone you know to Avon’s great products! Whatever you choose to do, have fun with it.

NINE: Look for customers outside of the friends and family you already know. When I take a look at the customer list I’ve built during my past few years with Avon, most of my regular customers are people I did not know before I started selling Avon. I met them as a result of selling Avon! Look for opportunities to meet new people and expand your customer base. You can meet new customers by asking your friends and family for referrals, doing vendor events, sticking a “Buy or Sell Avon” sign in your yard, sticking an Avon decal/magnet on your car, wearing an Avon logo item while you’re out and about, leaving brochures in waiting rooms, etc.

It’s SUMMER!!

The sun is shining. The kids are home from school. Cool pools and the sound of crashing waves beckon.

When the temperatures rise, it can be easy to let your Avon business drift to the wayside. Don’t let your Avon business wither away in the summer heat. Help it sizzle with summer success, by implementing a few of these summer survival tips for your Avon business!

SUMMER SURVIVAL TIPS for your AVON BUSINESS

  1. Be Consistent – Make sure to get your brochures to your customers every campaign. If doing your normal brochure delivery becomes a challenge during the busy summer, consider using a brochure mailing service, such as campaign-mailer.com. Consistent brochure delivery assures your customers that you are open for business!
  2. Plan for Vacations – Taking a family vacation? Pass out brochures ahead of time and let your customers know if there’s a change to your order schedule. Be sure to also let your customers know that they can shop through your Avon web store anytime at all, and have their orders delivered directly to them! Let your business grow while you’re away!
  3. Promote Summer Products – Avon offers a wide selection of summer products that everyone needs, such as our Skin So Soft Bug Guard, adorable flip flops, and beach-perfect tote bags. We’ve also got illuminating moisturizers, bikini line hair removal creams, and the entire FootWorks collection for pedicure-perfect feet and toes! Use post-it tabs to mark these pages in the brochures before you pass them out. Consider offering a special discount on the identified items.
  4. The Fortune is in the Follow-Up – Your customers are likely as busy with summer fun as you are. Be sure to follow-up with your customers a few days before you’ll be submitting your order. Let them know you’ll be submitting the order and ask if there’s anything they’d like. They’ll appreciate the reminder. Use the opportunity to suggest a great deal on a fun shade of summer polish!
  5. Utilize Your Own Web Store – If you have a slow campaign, consider submitting your order through your web store. Avon representatives get guaranteed 20% commission on web store orders of any size, even small orders! You can also enjoy free shipping on orders of $40 or more through your web store.
  6. Seize the Season – Promote your Avon business during your normal summer fun! Heading to the park with the kids? Bring a few brochures and samples packs to pass out to the other parents there! Going camping or golfing or kayaking? Bring along some Avon Bug Guard for on-the-spot sales. (The Bug Guard towelettes make GREAT samples.) Attending a BBQ? Bring along a basket of brochures for guests to browse.

  10. Keep Your Eye on the Prize – Sales may slow during the summer, but the peak fall/holiday season comes up right after. Keep your eyes on the prize. Be sure to keep your Avon account active during the summer, by placing an order of any size every few campaigns. This will ensure that you’ll be able to enjoy the high earnings of the peak holiday sales season!

New Rep. Exclusive – Building Your Customer List

Once you’ve taken that first step, and signed up as an Avon representative, the next most important thing you need to figure out is…

Who will your customers be?

Many people sign up to become an Avon representatives because they love Avon themselves and they know other people do as well.

YOU may be your very first Avon customer!

You may also have friends and family who already use Avon and are anxious to have you as their Avon representative. There may be other friends and family who haven’t seen an Avon brochure in 30 years and will be surprised to see what a wide variety of products Avon now offers. Other friends or family may be brand new to Avon! You will offer their first introduction.

Whatever your situation is, taking a few minutes to develop and expand your list of potential customers is a great first step on the road to success.

I’m going to walk you through some steps for developing and expanding your Avon customer list!

How to Develop and Expand Your Avon Customer List

  • Take out a piece of paper or use the spaces provided in the booklet, which was included in your Avon starter kit.
  • Start by listing the first people that pop into your head who you think might be interested in seeing an Avon brochure. Most people’s first customers are friends or family. Add those people to your list. **Remember that the people on your list do NOT have to be local to you, since you can sell to anyone across the nation through your Avon web store!
  • Now, think about other people you know, like neighbors or co-workers that you see on a regular or semi-regular basis. Add them to the list too.

Starting to get a little harder to think of people??

  • Pull out your cell phone or pull up your Friends list on Facebook. Who did you miss? Add them to your list. **Remember, Avon is not just for women. There are plenty of products for men and children as well! Everyone you know is a potential Avon customer!
  • Ok, now let’s think for a second of other places where you see people. Perhaps they are people who you are familiar with, but haven’t formally met yet… like people who attend your church or other moms picking up their kids from school or other parents at your child’s soccer game or dance class. These are all potential customers, so go ahead and jot down, “Moms at soccer” or “Ladies in book club”.

How’s that list looking so far? Let’s expand the list even more!

  • Think about places you go during any given week or month, like the doctor’s office, the gym, or the playground. Are there receptionists there who might be interested in seeing a brochure? Could you perhaps ask about leaving a stack of brochures in those offices?
  • Are you part of any clubs or organizations, in your local community or online? Add those people to your list too.
  • What’s near you, in your local community? Are there any senior centers or assisted living communities? What about community rooms at a local apartment complex? Think about places where you may be able to leave a few brochures.

You should have a pretty good looking list right now, but let’s take it one step further…

  • Look through the list you just made. Who on your list might be willing to take a few brochures to share with their co-workers and/or family and friends, in return for some free Avon gifts or a discount on their own order? Mark those people with a “*”.

One last step…

  • Who on that list might be interested in starting their own Avon business? Go through the list and mark them with a “$”, so that you remember to let them know that you can sign them up to your Avon team!

Now that you should have a pretty long list of potential customers, it’s time to get out there and start building your Avon business!!

The key to growing your business is to get your online store link and Avon brochures (printed or digital) in front of the eyes of as many people as possible.

Go through your list to figure out how many brochures you need in order to reach out to everyone on your list, then get those brochures labeled with your contact info and start letting people know your Avon store is open for business!

 

New Rep. Exclusive!! – How Do I Get Paid??

If you’re like most of us, you signed up to become an Avon representative to make money!

Am I right??

Maybe you’re looking to make a little extra cash on the side or maybe you’re looking to replace your full-time income.

Whatever your goals are with Avon, I’m guessing that money figures into it somehow!

With Avon, we can earn money on our sales in two ways:

  • Through face-to-face “traditional” orders
  • Through our online sales

We earn the same percentage, no matter how you choose to sell, but we get paid the earnings differently. Let me walk you through how you’ll earn your money with your Avon sales.

Traditional Face-to-Face Orders

Traditional orders are the orders that we collect from customers local to us, typically after they’ve browsed a printed brochure or your digital brochure link. These orders are typically submitted once each campaign (two-week sales period).

With our flexible ordering schedule, you can submit the orders you’ve collected on any day within the two-week campaign ordering window. (You’re welcome to submit multiple orders each campaign, though many reps prefer to submit all of their orders at the same time, to save on shipping fees.) Once you submit your orders, you can begin collecting orders for the next campaign.

TIP: Submitting your orders early in each two-week campaign ordering window can help to ensure the best product availability, particularly for limited-supply items, such as fashion, holiday, and home items.

We enter all of our customers’ orders, personal items for ourselves, demo items for upcoming campaigns, samples, future brochures, etc. into the representative site (http://www.avonnow.com), then submit the orders to Avon. Avon sends all of the items to us to be sorted and delivered to our customers.

For our traditional orders, Avon charges us a discounted price for the items in our order. The discount percentage depends on your sales achievement level. As a new representative, you are considered a “Contender”, which qualifies you for 25% discount/earnings on beauty, jewelry, and wellness items (as long as the total of all of your sales for the campaign is at least $40); 20% on fashion/home items.

Once you reach $5000 in total sales for the year, you’ll become a Premier achiever, and qualify for a boost in earnings (to 30%). You can achieve even higher sales achievement and earnings levels as you grow your business!

We collect the full brochure price from the customers, pay Avon the discounted rate, then keep the leftovers as our earnings!!

Take this simplified example:

Let’s say that you’ve collected exactly $200 in customer orders (of beauty, jewelry, and wellness items) for the campaign. As a contender, Avon would discount the items in your order by 25% and bill you $150 for the items. You would collect the $200 from the customers, pay Avon their $150, and then keep the remaining $50 as your earnings!

The more you sell, the more you earn!

**In an actual order, Avon would also collect sales tax and shipping and you would charge your customers sales tax and a .75 order processing fee, to help cover shipping. Demo items from the What’s New catalog are also discounted based on your earnings level (25% as a Contender). Business supplies, such as brochures, samples, bags, etc. count towards your sales total, but are billed at the listed prices.

TIP: Be sure that you are collecting the correct amount of money from your customers, based on the brochure price of the items they orders (not the discounted price that Avon will charge you), with your local sales tax and the 75 cents order processing fee added. Online “Direct Delivery” Orders

Online “Direct Delivery” Orders are orders that are placed by customers through our personal web stores. These orders are EASY MONEY in your pocket!! Customers pay Avon directly. Avon handles the processing and shipping. YOU get the earnings!!

For online orders, we earn the same percentage as our face-to-face traditional orders!!

Our commission on online orders gets credited to our Avon account as soon as the order ships. Then, with Avon’s new RAPID-PAY system, if you sign up for Direct Deposit (under the My Account section of avonnow.com), your online order earnings will be deposited directly to your bank within TWO DAYS after the order has shipped to your customer.

NOTE: If there is a balance owed on your Avon account, your online order earnings will apply as a credit towards that balance. To ensure that your earnings go directly to your bank, make sure that there is no remaining balance from the orders you submit through the representative site.

**You can view if anyone has submitted a Direct Delivery order through your online store, by clicking the Web Office link, under the My Office tab of youravon.com. Look for the box on the right which says, “You have…” Avon will also send an email notifying you of any online orders on the day after the order was placed.

**You can view a record of your Direct Delivery earnings by logging into your business site at youravon.com, clicking on the Manage Orders tab, then clicking on Direct Delivery Orders Report.
